He was born on April 18, 1929, in a small village named Kirchlitz, Ukraine. In 1941, he and his parents went to live in the Jewish ghetto of Same, Ukraine, at his brother Avigdor's home. Avigdor creat- ed a special second wall's hiding place HO UST in the dirt cellar for R Su five family members. These survivors of the Holocaust were Jacob Frumin (father), Arnie Frumin (nephew), Bassel Peristein (cousin) and Meyer Frumin; however, Drizel Frumin perished. RHODA LEE ADELMAN, 75, of Farmington Hills, died Jan. 6, 2008. She was a life member of the National Council of Jewish Women and a member of Women's Adelman American ORT. Mrs. Adelman is survived by her husband, Jack Adelman; sons and daughters-in-law, Dr. Bruce and Susan Adelman of West Bloomfield, Glenn Adelman of Farmington Hills, Dr. Brian and Annette Adelman of West Bloomfield; grandchildren, Aaron, Emily, Madeline, Jonah, Isabella and Joey Adelman; brother and sister-in-law, Dr. Jack and Louise Gabe of Farmington Hills. Maple, West Bloomfield, MI After escaping the ghetto, Mr. Frumin survived in the nearby forest, where, by chance, Avigdor found Meyer and asked him to return to the ghetto to take his son Arnie to a safer place. One Sunday morning, Meyer and Arnie found Meyer Frumin a way out of the ghetto by pretending that they were shepherds who just left church. A wagon full of farmers stopped and noticed that Arnie looked Jewish so they wanted to turn him into the Nazis. Meyer spoke to the farmers and somehow convinced them to leave the child for someone else to turn in. SUSAN GAIL (ABRAMSON) GOULD, formerly of Oak Park, passed away at her home in Beach Park, Ill., Jan. 10, 2008. She was born March 26, 1954, in El Paso, Texas. They immigrated to Detroit in November 1949. Meyer learned to be a dental tech- nician in Italy and worked for 50 years in this profes- sion. He owned Palmer Dental Laboratory in Ferndale. On Oct. 19, 1952, Mr. Frumin married a native Detroiter, Ilene Goodman. She was his beloved wife for 48 years. Mr. Frumin is survived by "son:' neph- ew Arnie Frumin of Southfield; daughter, Annette Lynn Frumin Elyazam of West Bloomfield; grandchildren, Lauren Feldman Reich, Tammara Braun Nowak, Justin Braun, Avital Shoshana Elyazam Inspect Solutions Inc. BARRY HEILBRUN, 64, former Detroiter of Houston, Texas, died Dec. 8, 2007, from sudden complications of his long-term diabetes. and Raz Eitan Elyazam; great-grandchild, Lonni Eryn Reich; many other loving family members and friends. He was the son of the late Jacob Frumin, the late Sosil Frumin; brother of the late Anchal Frumin, the late Avigdor Frumin, the late Joseph Frumin, the late Laeh Frumin and the late Genya Frumin. He lost his maternal grandmother, mul- tiple aunts, uncles and cousins in the Holocaust. He lost a son at childbirth in the first year of marriage and a daughter, Suzanne Braun, at age 36. Mr. Heilbrun is survived by his wife of 35 years, Pat Freitas Heilbrun; children, Cricket, Richard, Robert, Steven and Brian; grandchildren, Erin, daughter of Richard and Lynne Heilbrun, and Sebastian, son of Cricket and Gary Buchler. He was born in Detroit, the youngest son of Harry and Vera Honeyman.
