to the Palace of Auburn Hills.

oe Doodle and Jonathan
Wexler have lots in com-
mon.
Take away Moe's bright red wig,
clownish costume and upbeat drums
to find actor-singer-dancer Wexler, a
performer who shares his character's
love for stage antics and a special
appreciation for what appeals to young
audiences.
Wexler, 22, has performed profes-
sionally since he was 7 years old and is
one-third of the Doodlebops, musical
entertainers in a TV series planned for
preschoolers and launched in Canada.
The growing popularity of the troupe
has sent them on tour.
The trio, using rock music to pro-
mote positive values, works with
structured story lines for broadcast
but leaves those behind during con-
certs. Doodlebops Live!, coming to the
Palace of Auburn Hills on Jan. 20, gets

in full swing when young fans hop out
of their seats and bop to the band.
"Tot Rock" is the term that defines
the production style.
"We've been touring with this show
for a year and a half:' says Wexler, who
has relocated from Canada to Los
Angeles. "My favorite song is 'I Can
Dance' because it pushes my skill set
as far as I can go. I sing, dance, do
gymnastics and play piano.
"When I was very young, I told my
mom I wanted to be a superhero, and
this show sometimes helps me to act
like one. I consider working for chil-
dren very important because we can
have a big impact, and that's why we
always want to be very positive."
Moe Doodle, joined by keyboard-
ist Deedee Doodle (Lisa Lennox)
and guitarist Rooney Doodle (Chad
McNamara), airs on the Disney
Channel, which showcases the three
living out their daily lives to pop
music.
