He was born Feb. 22,1929, and grew up in Detroit and Chicago. He joined the U.S. Army at 18 and achieved the rank of corporal. After his service, he returned to Detroit, met his wife, Elaine; and they started a family. He eventually had his own construction company, going on to be a successful businessman. He and his wife moved to his beloved Scottsdale in 1979, where he was a land developer and could be seen on his motorcycle traveling to his properties. He had a passion for life, including sports, American history and helping those less fortunate through charity and volunteer work. He was known and loved by all who met him for his sense of humor, which never left him even in the most difficult of times. It seemed that life without a joke was not worth living, and Mr. Sarko always brought a welcome smile to this world. He is survived by his loving, devoted wife of 54 years, Elaine; son, Albert; daughter, Suzen; grandsons, Brandon and Stephen; sister Loraine Gellman (Larry); brother, Harold Sarko, and his wife, Mary.
