JAMES MAYER, 81, of Oak Park, died
Dec. 21, 2007.
He is survived by his daughter and
son-in-law, Leah and Dovid Rath of
New Hempstead, N.Y.; son, Benjamin
Mayer of Oak Park; brother and sister-
in-law, Edward and Evelyn Mayer of
Tucson, Ariz.; sister and brother-in-
law, Roslynne and Daniel Greenberg
of Farmington Hills; grandchildren,
Yerachmiel Rath, Sara Rath, Hadassa
Rath; many loving nieces and nephews;
dear friend, Carole Anton.
Mr. Mayer was the beloved husband
of the late Sandra Mayer.

LEONARD MITZ,
77, of Southfield,
died Dec. 26, 2007. A
marine veteran of the
Korean conflict, Mr.
Mitz was a member
of the Jewish War

After working for
24 years for National
Wholesale Drugs in Detroit, he joined
his wife in 1987 as a manufacturers
representative in gifts and women's
apparel for Mitz and Associates. He was
also a past member of the Zager Lodge
of B'nai B'rith.
He is survived by his wife for 51
years, Beverly Mitz; children, Dr.
Howard and Cantor Amy Mitz of
Sugarhill, N.H., Ilene and David
Goldberg of Farmington Hills; grand-
children, Aden, Jack, Aaron and Gabriel;
sister-in-law and brother-in-law,
Eleanor and Monte Korn.
Mr. Mitz was the loving brother and
brother-in-law of the late Sadie and
the late David Mills, the late Elizabeth
and the late Arthur Grenn, the late
Lawrence Mitz, the late Arlene and the
late Morton Mehler.
Interment at Clover Hill Park

JEANNE MOSS, former Detroiter of
Chicago, died Dec. 21, 2007.
She is survived by her daughter
and son-in-law, Nancy and Steven
Davidson; grandson, Philip Davidson;

She was the beloved wife of the late
Philip Moss; loving mother of the late
Jonathan Moss; she was the sister of
the late Rena Olender, the late Estelle
Helfand and the late Louis Goldin;
devoted daughter of the late Harry and
the late Ida Goldin.

DOROTHY S. ORENT, 95, of
Huntington Woods, died Dec. 20, 2007.
She is survived by her son and
daughter-in-law, Dr. Sander and
Deborah Orent of Boulder, Colo.;

Orent Goodman and Mitchell
Goodman of Atlanta, Ga.; brother, Dr.
Leonard Schwartz of Los Angeles, Calif.;

Mrs. Orent was the beloved wife of
the late Dr. Joseph Orent.

EMANUEL SARKO, 78, former
Detroiter of Scottsdale, Ariz., died Dec.
24, 2007.
He was born Feb. 22,1929, and grew
up in Detroit and Chicago. He joined
the U.S. Army at 18 and achieved the
rank of corporal. After his service,
he returned to Detroit, met his wife,
Elaine; and they started a family. He
eventually had his own construction
company, going on to be a successful
businessman.
He and his wife moved to his beloved
Scottsdale in 1979, where he was a land
developer and could be seen on his
motorcycle traveling to his properties.
He had a passion for life, including
sports, American history and helping
those less fortunate through charity
and volunteer work. He was known and
loved by all who met him for his sense
of humor, which never left him even in
the most difficult of times. It seemed
that life without a joke was not worth
living, and Mr. Sarko always brought a
welcome smile to this world.
He is survived by his loving, devoted
wife of 54 years, Elaine; son, Albert;
daughter, Suzen; grandsons, Brandon
and Stephen; sister Loraine Gellman
(Larry); brother, Harold Sarko, and his
wife, Mary.
