DAVID LITTMANN

AVID L. LITTMANN is senior economist for the Mackinac
Center for Public Policy and a
member of the Center's Board of
Scholars. In January 2005, he retired
from Comerica Bank, where he was
senior vice president and chief
economist.
Littmann joined Comerica Bank in
1970. He was author of the Bank's
business brochure entitled Economic
Briefs and developed a variety of
business activity indexes for many
regional economies, along with a
tourism index for the State of Michigan.
He compiled and reported monthly on the results of the
Southeast Michigan survey of the Purchasing Management
Association of Detroit.
Littmann has been ranked the 7th most accurate
economic forecaster by The Wall Street Journal.
David Littmann is author of several research articles on
the causes of inflation, published in Business Economics, the
professional journal of the National Association of Business
Economists. He writes a monthly business column appearing in
The Detroiter, published by the Detroit Regional Chamber.
Littmann was a member of The Economic Advisory
Committee of The American Bankers Association in
Washington. He is past president of the Detroit Chapter of the
National Association of Business Economists and is a member
of the Economic Club of Detroit.
David Littmann will speak to our SYNergy participants
following dinner on Friday evening.
