Team No. 3, which won the 18th annual "Matzo Bowl" of the Yiddish
Football League on Dec. 2 at Birmingham Groves High School in
Beverly Hills. Not pictured is teammate Ray Gatewood of Novi. The
YF1 is a touch football league made up of six teams of men in their
20s-50s that play at Groves every Sunday between September and early
December. The team celebrated with a steaming bowl of matzah ball
soup.

Defensive Support
Members of Detroit's Young Leadership division of the Friends of the
Israel Defense Forces helped chair a Manhattan gala — the fifth annual
Casino Night of the FIDF, which featured a performance by Jewish reg-
gae singer Matisyahu. The event raised more than $600,000. It brought
together 1,500 young professionals who traveled to the event from Israel,
London, Milan, Munich, Belgium and throughout the United States.
The aim was to support Israel's soldiers. Above, FIDF Young Leadership
