Song

tively "normal" outfit she is wearing
as she and Vernon prepare to go off
for a weekend together, she tells him it
came from a friend who does Geritol
commercials.
Another spirited addition to the
performance is the chorus: three
men and three women who represent
Vernon's and Sonia's alter egos. Their
singing and dancing, thanks to the
choreography of Greg Patterson, add
life to the musical numbers, some-
thing that is missing when Ball and
Linden perform their songs alone.
The play rotates between a vari-
ety of sets, designed by Christopher

Carothers, which provide visual inter-
est and keep the performance moving.
These include Vernon's living room,
his studio, a nightclub where the char-
acters have their first date, a recording
studio and Sonia's apartment, acces-
sorized with garish colors and an
oversized stuffed animal.

JET's production of They're
Playing Our Song runs through
Dec. 31, with special New Year's
Eve performances. For informa-
