No matter what the size of your
gift, with your help we can do
more. Last year the six day
schools in our community awarded
$6.5 million in scholarships to
families in need of support - an
increase of 8% over the last year.
This year, the requests for
assistance are growing.

21st-century medicine
in a 3,000-year-old city
is Hadassah's latest travel opportu-
nity — with a twist. From March
23-26, the Hadassah Physicians'
Council will sponsor a professional
education program at the Hadassah
Medical Organization in Jerusalem
that will provide continuing medi-
cal education (CME) credits.
The program, "From Concept
to Cure,' is accredited by co-spon-
sor Emory University School of
Medicine in Atlanta and is open to
all generalist and specialty physi-
cians who would like to learn more
about medical research and prac-
tice in Israel and the Middle East.
Coursework will focus on genetic
and stem-cell research with clinical
applications and ethical implica-
tions, concepts in basic pathophysi-
ology of diabetes, management
trends in cardiac disease, chronic
pediatric disease, trauma medicine
and the Israeli healthcare system.
Pre- and post-touring pack-
ages will be offered. Contact the
Hadassah Physicians' Council,
professionalcouncils@hadassah.org
or (212) 303-8023. b

Celebrating a bat mitzvah is always an occasion for
celebration. But when a child with special needs steps to the
bimah to read from the Torah, that is a triumph for the entire
community. Thanks to a Federation-funded program called
Opening the Doors, more than 700 exceptional children
receive the educational support they need to succeed. In day
schools, congregational schools, Jewish camps and other
programs that serve our community, our Jewish values are
put to work. Educating our children. Impacting lives.

In ways you may never know or can predict, your gift to
the Jewish Federation adds strength and value to our
endeavors, because it goes to support 19 local agencies,
including six Jewish Day Schools, the Jewish Community
Center and Tamarack Camps, where miracles large and
small happen every day.

When you give, you give more than money. You give hope.

Three ways you can give:
