The perfect game came in Reznik's
first game of the night. He began his
second game with two open frames,
then he reeled off 10 straight strikes
for a 253 game. Emotionally and phys-
ically drained, Reznik could only bowl
186 in his third game and finished
with a 739 series.
"I was so jacked up at the start of
the second game Reznik said. "If I
had a couple more minutes between
the first and second games to calm
down, who knows what might have
happened?"
This was the fourth 300 game
that Reznik has seen in the league.
Horwitz, Eric Goldberg and Howard
Waxer threw the previous 300 games
while they were on Reznik's team.
Reznik's current team is called
the Cantstandyas. It's a reference to
the "Seinfeld" episode in which it's
revealed that George Costanza's high
school gym teacher used to call him
"Can't-Stand-Ya." The team was in first
place as the end of the season's first
half was approaching.
Reznik was the athletic director
of what's now the Think Detroit PAL
inner-city sports program when he
stepped away from bowling three
years ago. He now makes his living

two B'nai B'rith bowling
seasons. He felt he needed
the sabbatical because of his work
schedule and because he was getting
burned out on bowling.
Longtime friend and bowling team-
mate Dennis Horwitz asked Reznik

the lanes this
season and join

League play at Country Lanes in

"That'll be my first and last 300
game Reznik said. "It's such a difficult
thing to do. Even if you throw 12 per-
fect balls, there's no guarantee they'll
all be strikes."
Reznik has been bowling since he
was 5 and competing in leagues since
he was 10. He began bowling in the
