Holiday Toy Drive
Every year, students at Hillel Day
School of Metropolitan Detroit in
Farmington Hills hold the "One
Night of Chanukah" toy drive for
children in need.
This year's drive is being orga-
nized by Hind's fifth-grade class
and will give the entire community
an opportunity to collect toys.
A culminating event at Hillel
for fifth-grade students of all the
participating religious schools
will take place 10 a.m.-11:45 a.m.
Sunday, Dec. 9, and include rabbis
and educators from the schools.
Also participating are the
Jewish Federation, Congregations
Shaarey Zedek, Beth Ahm, Bnai
Moshe, Beth Shalom; Adat Shalom
Synagogue; Temples Emanu-El and
Israel; and Jewish Parents Institute.

Talks On Aging
The Institute of Gerontology has
a partnership with the Jewish
Community Center of Metropolitan
Detroit's ElderLink to bring free
and non-commercial information
on aging to the public.
On Wednesday, Dec. 12, 1 - 2:30
p.m. at the JCC in Oak Park, the
topics will be "Staying Mentally
Fit and Healthy in Later Years"
with Peter Lichtenberg, direc-
tor of Institute of Gerontology;
"Legal Planning After 70" with
Jim Schuster, elder law attorney;
"Smart Insurance Decisions and
Generating Income in Retirement."
