U.S. News and World
Report picked up on
a paper co-authored
by Dr. Benjamin
Movsas of
Southfield, chair of
radiation oncology
at the Detroit-based
Movsas
Henry Ford Health
System. The paper, to be published
in December issue of Cancer, shows
that emotional well being does not
predict for survival among cancer
patients. He was part of the study
as the head of the Quality and Life
Committee for the Radiation Therapy
Oncology Group.

recent presenter at

scientific meet-
ing of the American College of
Gastroenterology in Philadelphia. In
a case-control study, Dr. Silverman
and her Henry Ford colleagues found
that the anti-inflammatory drug
mesalamine protected people with
inflammatory bowel disease from
developing colorectal cancer.
