Joining the collection of Jewish Gali Girls dolls is a
new Sephardi friend. The newest addition to the line of
18-inch poseable, soft-bodied dolls is one with darker
hair and skin. Just like blonde, brunette and red-headed
Gali Girls, creator Aliza Stein of Teaneck, N.J., said
the dolls are Jewish, representing Jewish values such
as modesty, kindness, respect and charity. Gali Girls,
which also include Reyna, a Chinese-and-Jewish doll, are modestly dressed in
trendy shirts and skirts. Each comes with a birth certificate
that includes both a Hebrew and English name, a wooden
Shabbat play set and matching Magen David jewelry for
the doll and the child. In addition to accessories, includ-
ing doll glasses and backpacks, Gali Girls has two new
dresses that will fit any 18-inch doll: the navy, flowing,
anlde-length Chanukah dress, with dreidels on the sash
and menorah charms at the hem, and the "Shabbat
Bride Dress," a white, satin wedding gown. For ages
