Special to the Jewish News

hanukah — the Festival of Lights — is a time of illumination and joy. a cel-
ebration of dedication, commitment and goodness. Besides sharing special
meals with family and friends, this is the time of the year when we like to give
something special to friends and loved ones, to capture the festive mood that
marks the joy felt two millennia ago when the Jewish people cleansed and rededicated to
God the Temple in Jerusalem.
In that spirit, our gift guide shines a spotlight on fun. This is a celebration, after all. We
canvass the carefree side of life and discover creative, fun-loving and thoughtful gifts
in the way of unique home-decor furnishings, polka-dot accessories, delectable treats,
whimsical sculpture made by a once-downtrodden community, and tabletop trinkets for a
shining Chanukah gathering. Whimsical barware makes an appearance, too.
