(( Letters ril l ? 1,11/ I k How to Send Letters The kitchen has always had a major role in the life of Jeff and Eva Luckoff. Now it is a shining star, thanks to a stunning redesign and build by Gittleman Construction, Inc. "They completely reconfigured the plan and made better use of all the space," said Eva. They knocked out a dining room wall, redesigned a mud room and added a new laundry room. The kitchen, itself, is a masterful blend of antique white and espresso wood cabinetry, granite countertops and hardwood floors. A new bank of windows bring the outside in. The show stopper is a 9-foot island with space enough to accommodate family and friends while Eva whips up a delicious home cooked meal. "I love the cooking space I have now," said Eva, and Jeff and the boys, Stephen, 11, Bradley, 7 and Bennett, 4, all love whatever Mom makes in the new kitchen. So when your old space needs to take center stage, rely on a great performance by Gittleman. Just ask the luckoff family. tis GITTLEMAN CONSTRUCTION inc CUSTOM 28580 ORCHARD LAKE RD., SUITE 102 FARMINGTON HILLS, MI 48334 248.538.5400 www.gittieman.net RENOVATIONS dalictle the season... with a memorable gift from We prefer letters relating to JN articles. Coulter vs. Jefferson I am thankful that Donny Deutsch didn't follow your letter writer advice ("Perfected Jews", Nov. 15, page A6) on his MSNBC show, The Big Idea, when Ann Coulter told Deutsch, a Jew, that Christians were "perfected Jews' Imagine if Deutsch answered Coulter, as the letter writer suggested, that the King James Bible was "riddled with doctored translations and fabri- cations" and that "Christian transla- tors ... have created a counterfeit Judaism." I can imagine the MSNBC sound bite declaring, "Watch a Jew and Christian battle in an epic, biblical war of words!" Isn't this supposed to be the land of religious freedom? Yes, according to Alan Dershowitz, who writes that Christianity was not intended to be the foundation of the American gov- ernment ("Affirming History," Nov. 15, page A27). Dershowitz writes that Jefferson, in the Declaration of Independence, wanted a true "separation of church and state." So let's try to forget Coulter who answered, "Yeah',' when Deutsch asked "if we should just throw Judaism away and we should all be Christians?" Forget her perfected intolerance and focus instead on the words of Jefferson: "Rightful action is unob- structed action according to our will within limits drawn around us by the equal rights of others." Arnie Goldman Farmington Hills Archive Memories T2T Staff Writer Gabriella Ring's fine interview with veteran Donald Golde ("Keeping Memories Alive," Nov. 8, page A15) is a timely reminder: We must act quickly to preserve the memoirs of Jewish members of "the greatest generation" who served in our Hours: 181 S. As our veterans age and memories fade, their stories of hero- ism and self-sacrifice should be cher- ished and passed on for future genera tions. Nor should we forget those who fought in Korea, Vietnam and later conflicts. They, too, have much to teac us. The Leonard N.
