Answering Israel's Critics The Charge Last week, a senior member of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas' delegation harshly criti- cized Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak, saying he is an obstacle to negotiations. The Answer Ehud Barak is a former Israeli prime minister and the most decorated soldier in Israel's history. For seven years, the Palestinians have blamed him for the breakdown of the Camp David negotiations in 2000, which led to the second intifada. His commitment to Israel's security, to defending Israel's historic and religious claims to Jerusalem and to parts of the West Bank remains unshakable. - Allan Gale, Jewish Community Relations Council of Metropolitan Detroit. @copyright Nov. 22, 2007 Jewish Renaissance Media Co-spow.ored by the CST Sisterhood and the CST Liiliong Learning Committee. :: ,..nerously underwritten by the CST lineth Ape.' donors.
