n Nov. 2, Yeshivat Akiva's early childhood department in Southfield
participated in the mock wedding of Yitzchak and Rivkah.
Kindergarten Judaic teacher Rivkah Nachlas came up with the idea as
a way of teaching the Parasha Chayei Sarah in a meaningful way to the children.
The kindergarten chose the chatan (groom Jonah Gilan) and kallah (bride Liora

Frogel) by picking names out of a hat. They also chose the parents of the bride, Jeremiah
Wolfe and Michal Skoczylas, and parents of the groom, Asher Schreiber and Rena
Herschfus, in the same way.
All the classes enjoyed dancing to music, which was followed by making necklaces as
a reminder that Eliezer gave jewelry to Rivkah as a gift. After the necklaces were made, a
special seudah (meal) of pudding and whipped cream topped with chocolate chips was
eaten.
