odels dressed in black prowled around the catwalk, stalking purses, belts
and other fashionable accessories. That was the first of seven scenes in a
spectacular fashion show produced by Real Style Productions, featuring
clothing from Don Thomas Sporthaus, Nicole Miller, the Claymore Shop, Hersh's, St. John
Boutique and Tender. The models also wore luxurious furs from Ceresnie & Offen and
jewelry from Schubot Jewellers.
About 315 women attended the Oct. 24 event at Temple Israel in West Bloomfield,
which included a luncheon and boutique shopping with 39 vendors.
"This is a real treat — it's a day of fun and shopping;' said
Susan Kaplan of Farmington Hills, who co-chaired the donor
luncheon and fashion show with Wendy Kohlenberg of West
Bloomfield. "We want people to know their money really does go
a long way toward funding programs for the temple's youth and
community projects."
The event was held in the temple ballroom, which was decorat-
ed with flowers and balloons. Unique ladies hats from the private
collection of Debbie Stern of West Bloomfield were perched at
the center of each table.
"Sisterhood is such an integral part of Temple Israel," explained
Kohlenberg. "We do so many things, like supporting our youth
programs, hosting events for women and re-doing some of the
temple facilities. It's a great way to get involved and there's truly
something for everyone!"
Spotted in the donor luncheon and fashion show crowd were: Dr. Sharon Sandberg,
Allison Berlin, Eileen Isenberg, Cherie Blazofsky, Susan Shevrin, Susan Yorke,
Janet Moses and Laurie Blinder, all of West Bloomfield; Andi Gold and Julie Phillips,
both of Novi; Gail Lutz of Farmington Hills; Fran Hack of Birmingham; Shellie
Achtman of Walled Lake; and Sharon Fishman of Bloomfield Hills.
