What's the downside?
According to the
National Institutes of
Health (NIH), BHA is
"reasonably anticipated to
be a human carcinogen" (BHT is
unclear). However, the FDA, after
extensive testing, has determined
both BHA and BHT to be safe as
food additives in limited amounts.
