The kitchen has always had a major role in the life of Jeff and Eva Luckoff.

Now it is a shining star, thanks to a stunning redesign and build by Gittleman Construction, inc.
"They completely reconfigured the plan and made better use of all the space," said Eva.

They knocked out a dining room wall, redesigned a mud room and added a new laundry room.
The kitchen, itself, is a masterful blend of antique white and espresso wood cabinetry, granite
countertops and hardwood floors. A new bank of windows bring the outside in.
The show stopper is a 9-foot island with space enough to accommodate family and friends
while Eva whips up a delicious home cooked meal.

"I love the cooking space I have now," said Eva, and Jeff and the boys, Stephen, 11, Bradley, 7
and Bennett, 4, all love whatever Mom makes in the new kitchen.

So when your old space needs to take center stage, rely on a great performance by Gittleman.

— Just ask the Luckoff family.

Essence Captured
It's rare that a writer captures both the
essence and the nuances of a story and
transmits them succinctly and effec-
tively. Kudos to Senior Writer Shelli
Liebman Dorfman who did just that
("Who Knows One?" Nov. 8, page B1).
As a point of information: A preview
showing of the Who Knows One? docu-
mentary will be shown at Young Israel
of Southfield (where the filmmaker
grew up) Saturday evening, Nov. 17, at
7:30 p.m.

convoluted or false. The answer to
Coulter is: Judaism was created perfect
when the Torah was given. Christian
translators and testament authors have
created a counterfeit Judaism in which
redemption impossible without their
redeemer.
If you believe the Old Testament,
then believe Jeremiah 16:19, which
says in regard to the end times,"...
the nations (non-Jews) shall come
unto thee from the ends of the earth,
and shall say, Surely our fathers have
inherited lies, vanity and things in
which there is no profit."

'Perfected Jews'
I am less concerned with Ann
Coulter's boorish religiosity than
with the failure of Donny Deutsch to
respond with reasoned debate to her
comment about "perfected Jews" and
belief in the "Old Testament" ("A Code
For Conversion:' Nov. 8, page A33).
Ms. Coulter's insensitivity is less of
a danger that allowing her perverted
concept of Judaism to go unchal-
lenged. I am embarrassed when my
fellow Jews can do no better than
whine about her rudeness instead of
challenging her theology.
The Christian Old Testament dif-
fers from the Jewish version in subtle,
but significant, ways in the form of
altered articles, tense, punctuation and
outright mistranslated words easily
missed by untrained readers. The King
James Bible was derived from a Latin
text riddled with doctored translations
and fabrications authored by a monk
claiming divine inspiration in "cor-
recting" text that did not correlate with
the New Testament.
The tampered texts are stubbornly
preserved in most Christian Bibles,
possibly because an accurate render-
ing challenges the legitimacy of their
New Testament if its references to
the Jewish scriptures are exposed as

Ghetto Concern
On the basis of research by Robert
Putnam, Columnist George Cantor
writes, "People want to live among
those whose cultural background
and ethnicity is similar to their own"
("Diversity Blues:' Nov. 8, page A33).
The question arises: Should Jews be
thankful for the ghetto?

• In "Standout Service" (Nov. 1, page
C4), Dr. Allen Silbergleit's name was
misspelled. He's the program direc-
tor for general surgery at St. Joseph

Also, Dr. Silbergleit received the 2006
Cancer Liaison Physician Outstanding
Performance Award from the
Commission on Cancer, not from the
hospital.
• In 'Sight Lines" (Nov. 8, page A40),
the membership of the Jewish
