Margot's
For Childrer
argot Kempler, 99, of
Southfield, died Nov. 6, 2007.
During the Holocaust,
Mrs. Kempler jumped off a deportation
train in Austria and eventually linked up
with her husband in Italy. After escap-
ing to Morocco, he appealed by letter
to President Roosevelt and they gained
admission to the U.S.
In Detroit, Mrs. Kempler began a busi-

ness making children's clothes, Margot's
for Children with locations on Dexter, Livernois,
downtown Detroit and Farmington. She also
designed and made dresses for 1970 Miss
America Pam Eldred.
"People raved about the beautiful cloth-
ing that she lovingly sewed," said friend
Debbie Kirshner of Oak Park.
"To this day, they still talk about all she
made for their children and grandchildren."
Margot Kempler is survived by her
nephews and nieces, Henryk and Ursula
Offner of Brazil, Joao and Rosa Tichauer of
Brazil; and many loving friends including Debbie and
Elizabeth Kirshner.
Mrs. Kempler was the beloved wife of the late
Jacob Kempler; loving aunt of the late Rene
Tichauer; dear sister of the late Hannah Offner, the
late Elizabeth.
Interment was at Hebrew Memorial Park.
