Local Couple Honored Lorraine and Ben Pivnick of Farmington Hills are this year's recipi- ents of the Society for Humanistic Judaism's Sherwin T. Wine Lifetime Achievement Award, honoring their "dedication, devotion, adherence to and activity in the Secular Humanistic Judaism Movement." The award was presented Oct. 20 at Colloquium 2007, "Jews and Ben and Lorriane the Muslim Pivnick World: Solving the Puzzle a weekend-long program sponsored by the Farmington Hills-based International Institute for Secular Humanistic Judaism. Founding members of the Birmingham Temple, the Society for Humanistic Judaism, and the International Institute for Secular Humanistic Judaism, the Pivnicks have supported every major project associated with Humanistic Judaism with their time, energy, and commit- ment.
