JUST JAZZY: Singer Mary Stallings, who was influenced by jazz leg-
end Carmen McRae, brings her talents to the Music Hall Center for the
Performing Arts, 350 Madison, Detroit. She will do two shows — 8 p.m.
and 11 p.m. Friday, Nov. 9. Stallings, who was raised in San Francisco,
brought more standards and improvisations to her most recent recording,
Remember Love, which includes "I Just Found Out About Love" and "What
a Difference a Day Makes." The show, geared to bring out fresh interpreta-
tions of some familiar songs, is planned to give a smooth start to weekend

ATTIC ATTITUDES: Antique collectors get another hunt for storied
finds when they attend the 60th annual Goodwill Antiques Show running
Friday-Sunday, Nov. 9-11, at the Shotwell-Gustafson Pavilion on the cam-
pus of Oakland University in Rochester. More than 50 dealers from across
the country will be showing furniture, art, tableware and toys. The tradi-
tional Goodwill Booth — with collectibles, jewelry and furniture restored
by volunteers of the Junior Group — will be a continuing feature. Hours are
10 a.m.-6 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday,
with admission at $10. An elegant preview party is planned for 7-10 p.m.
Thursday, Nov. 8, when there will be a strolling supper during shopping.
