T
hey finish each other's sentences, ping-
ponging back and forth without a moment's
hesitation; and that's what makes twin
comedians Randy and Jason Sklar such unique
entertainers.
The 35-year-old Jewish
brothers who grew up in St.
Louis are graduates of the
University of Michigan in
Aim Arbor. Their unique
brand of tag-team humor
has been showcased on MTV,
HBO, ESPN, Comedy Central,
the ABC-TV hit show Grey's
Anatomy and in several mov-
ies.
"They're just really up and
coming; they're very big with
the younger audience said the
ADEs development director,
Sharone Bigelman of Birmingham. "They drew a big
crowd here tonight"
More than 300 people mingled at Knollwood
Country Club in West Bloomfield Oct. 18, enjoying
cocktails and a strolling dinner as they waited for the
Sklar brothers to take the stage. A special VIP recep-
tion with the SIdars was also held for donors who

contributed $1,000 or more.
"We live in Los Angeles now, which is quite interest-
ing; it's a culture shock:' the Sklars said during their
performance. "We're Midwest boys at heart"
The duo kept the crowd laughing with their
observations about life in L.A. as well as sketches on
classic rock n' roll, Judaism and their quirky Jewish
parents.
The evening of comedy is the largest annual
fundraising event for Michigan's ADL chapter. The
organization fights anti-Semitism and all forms of
bigotry, defending democratic ideals and protecting
all people's civil rights.
"Since 1913, we've been doing something in this
country that's important not only to Jewish people, but
to all minorities who are victims of discrimination,"
said ADL board member Richard Nodel of Orchard
Lake.
"We live in a dangerous society; the ADL makes it a
little safer for all of us."
Spotted in the ADL comedy night crowd were:
Regina and Darren Colton of Birmingham; Judi and
Brad Schram of West Bloomfield; Elaine and Mark
Blumenfeld and Vicky and David Buckfire, all of
Farmington Hills; Rochelle and Brian Raznick of
Franklin; Roberta Patt of Huntington Woods; and
Linda and Tom Ditkoff of Bloomfield Hills.
