Elder Pearl At WSU
The Jewish Student Organization at
Wayne State University will host Dr.
Judea Pearl, the father of slain Wall
Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl,
1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 12, in the Purdy
Kresge Library, 5265 Cass, Detroit.
He will speak on "The War on
Terror: Ideology and Tactics:' This
program is sponsored by but does
not necessarily reflect the views of
Student Council.
Following the murder of his son
Daniel Pearl, Dr. Pearl co-founded
the Daniel Pearl Foundation, of
which he is the president. The foun-
dation was created "to continue
Danny's mission and to address
the root causes of this tragedy, in
the spirit, style and principles that
shaped Danny's work and character:'
The foundation seeks cross-cul-
tural understanding, to diminish
ethnic and religious hatred, encour-
age responsible and creative jour-
nalism and unite people through
the universal language of music.
Did you know that The Harris Poll®
consistently demonstrates that Jews do
not believe, or express doubt, in higher
proportions than any other religious
denomination? Surprising? And why do
we never really talk directly about God?
