RUTH SILBER KATZ, 95, of West Bloomfield, died Oct. 24, 2007. She was a salesperson of fine women's clothing. She was also a longtime member of Hadassah. Mrs. Katz is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Marcia and Dr. Donald Boxman of West Bloomfield; son and daugh- ter-in-law, Paul and Joanne Silber of Citrus Heights, Calif.; grandchildren, Valerie Boxman Finberg, Abigail Boxman and John Morrison, Andrew Silber and Catherine Bergland, Mark and Rachel Silber, Robert Silber and Miriam Culjak; great-grandchil- dren, Nicole and Annie Finberg, Aidan, Noah, Maya, Ryan and Alexa Silber. She was the beloved wife of the late Meyer "Mike" Katz and the late C. Hertzl Silber. Interment at Nusach Harie Cemetery. SELMA LERNER, former Detroiter of Laguna Woods, Calif., died Oct. 24, 2007, following a bout with cancer. In 1946, she met and married George J. Lerner and moved to Detroit, where she lived until 1997. She was active in civic and Jewish community affairs, having served as vice president for the local JNF chapter and for the Congregation Shaarey Zedek Sisterhood. She was active in other ways with the synagogue, especially with youth groups. Following her husband's death, she worked keeping Lerner Plywood running and later as a real estate broker. She retried at age 75 from Shaarey Zedek, having man- aged its communications opera- tions and editing/compositing its newsletter the Recorder. Mrs. Lerner is survived by her sister, Lois "Maidew"Ack; sons and daughters-in-law, Arthur, Kenneth and Katherine, Joey and Maine; daughters and son-in-law, Amy Slavitt, Rosanne Lerner and Dan; grandchildren, Gabriel, Jordan, Adam, Natalie, and Gideon; loving cousins and nieces. apP --414 111 51•P•qii.
