Fla., died Oct. 19, 2007.
For 55 years, he was the owner of
Leyton's Specialty Stores with locations in
Detroit, Redford and Oak Park.
Mr. Singer is survived by his son and
daughter-in-law, David and Barbara Singer
of North Carolina; daughters and sons-in-
law, Kathy and Jeffiey Schultz, Julie and
Brian Gordon of Franklin; grandchildren,
Jill and Adam Organ, Lori Singer and Matt
Oliviera, Carly and Brodrick Dunn, Brian
and Natalie Schultz, Lainie Schultz, Joey
Schultz, Hindi Feinn, Mia Gordon, Miles
Gordon; great-grandchildren, Zoe and
Macy Organ; sister and brother-in-law,
Bunny and Milton Fishman of Florida.
He was the beloved husband of the late
Mildred "Millie" Singer; dear brother of
the late Walter Singer and the late Leatrice
Brawer.
Interment at Beth El Memorial Park.

died Oct. 17, 2007. For 20 years, she was a
middle school teacher in Detroit.
Mrs. Winter is survived by her sons
and daughters-in-law, Lawrence Winter
of Clarkston, David and Joe Winter of
Plymouth; daughters and sons-in-law,
Elise and Tom Frattarelli of Woodhaven,
Janis and Darrell Seelinger of Macomb;
nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild;
brothers and sister-in-law, George and
Elsie Cedar, Jon Cedar; former daughter-
in-law, Kathy Winter.
She was the beloved wife of the late Ben
Winter; dear sister of the late Raymond
Cedar.
Interment at Machpelah Cemetery.

GLORIA WINTER,

96,
of Brooklyn, N.Y., died Oct. 10, 2007.
She fled from turmoil in Turkey with
her parents and siblings after World War
I. She then lived in Rhodes and Athens,
where she attended high school, before her
family settled in Milan.
She was expelled from Italy with her
husband and son in 1938 because of anti-
Semitic laws and risked expulsion from
Bulgaria as a stateless person before find-
ing refuge in the United States in 1940.
Mrs. Zalman is survived by her sons
and daughters-in-law, Marvin and
Greta Zalman of Huntington Woods,
and Benjamin and Denise Zalman of
Brooklyn; grandchildren, Debbie Roope-
Zalman, Amy Zalman, David Zalman
and Seth Zalman; great-grandchildren,
Benjamin and Hazel Rose.
She was the loving wife of the late Harry
Zalman.
Interment in New Jersey.
