Southfield. He is the brother of
Samantha and Bennett. His grandpar-
ents are Maxine and Herb Weinberg
and Roberta and Emery Grosinger.
He is also the great-grandson of
Lawrence Block.
Ryan is an eighth-grader at Hillel
Day School of Metropolitan Detroit in
Farmington Hills. Volunteering with
his dogs at Fleischman Residence
in West Bloomfield was Ryan's most
memorable mitzvah project.

Franklin Marvin,
son of Lori and

read from the Torah
on Friday, Oct. 19,
at Temple Israel in
West Bloomfield as
he celebrates his bar
mitzvah. He is the
brother of Joshua and the grandchild
of Patricia and Howard Schlafer and
Sue and Doug Marvin. He is also the
grandchild of the late Paul Greenwald.
His great-grandparents are Virginia
and Leo Jacobs.
Alex is a student at Walnut Creek
Middle School in Walled Lake. His
most meaningful mitzvah project was
organizing a fundraising event for the
Parkinson's Foundation at Leo's Coney
Island.

El in Bloomfield
Township. Sharing in
her simchah will be
her parents, Jennifer
and Jeff Hollander, and brother Ari.
Also participating in the service will
be her grandparents Harriett and Leo
Hollander and Judy and John Marx.
Rachel attends Warner Middle
School in Farmington Hills. Starting a
team called Kids Conquering Cancer,
as part of the West Bloomfield Relay
For Life, was her most meaningful
mitzvah project.
Samuel Joshua
Nathan will be
called to the Torah
as a bar mitzvah on
Saturday Oct. 20, at
Temple Shir Shalom
in West Bloomfield.
He is the son of
Nathan
Lauren and Michael
Nathan and the big
brother of Noah. He is the grandson
of Muriel Rudack and Sandy and Ben
Nathan. He is also the grandson of the
late Samuel Rudack.
Sammy is an eighth-grader at West
Hills Middle School in Bloomfield
Hills. For his mitzvah project, he vol-
unteered at Safety Town at Fox Hills
Elementary School in Bloomfield Hills.
A.J. Kraus, son
of Kim and David
Kraus, will read from
the Torah on the
occasion of his bar
mitzvah Saturday,
Oct. 20, at Temple
Israel
in West
Kraus
Bloomfield. He is
the brother of Madi,
Max and Bennett. His grandmothers
are Christine Skiing and Geraldine
Kraus. He is also the grandchild of
the late Jerry Skilling and the late
Edmund Kraus. His proud great-
grandmothers are Florence Yutzey and
Esther Kaplan.
A.J. is a student at Warner Middle
School in Farmington Hills. He felt his
volunteer time at Detroit's Gleaners
Community Food Bank was very
meaningful as a mitzvah project.

services Saturday,
Oct. 20, at Temple Israel in West
Bloomfield. Her grandparents are
Golda and Ed Shapiro and Nancy and
Dr. Martin Barr.
Jaclyn is a seventh-grader at
Cranbrook Kingswood Middle School
in Bloomfield Hills. She collected used
soccer equipment for needy families
around the world through the U.S.
Soccer Federation's Soccer Passback
program and felt this was a meaning-
ful mitzvah project.
