Congregation Beth Ahm's Shabbat
morning Torah study group, open
to the community from 9-9:30 a.m.
every Saturday at 5075 W. Maple
in West Bloomfield, has embarked
upon a new project: learning
Torah with the help of Rabbi Dov
Peretz Elkins' book The Bible's
Top 50 Ideas. Rabbi Elkins' theory
is that if one knows 50 of the
5,000 verses in the Torah, one can
begin to grasp its essence. Each week, the group will study
one verse in-depth from the Torah portion, guided by Rabbi
Steven Rubenstein. Participants may purchase the book for
$12.50 through the Beth Ahm office or by contacting Rabbi
