Cru loved flowers - whether beau- tiful yellow roses from her beloved Milton, her husband of 52 years, or simply a branch of lilacs cut from a bush in their West Bloomfield yard. She loved games, especially Scrabble, mah Jong and Boggle -any- thing "to keep the old mind working," she would say - and anything that allowed her to sit around a table with people she enjoyed. Cru loved jewelry, not diamonds or fancy stuff, but the few sentimentally significant pieces that she wore every day. She especially loved the large gold Jewish star she wore around her neck, which is a replica of a small one given to her by her family when she was young. She also wore a sil- ver bracelet that resembled a ladder climbing to heaven that daughter Lori gave her and that she never took off. Her favorite pieces were the beads, earrings, and name necklaces she proudly made for nearly 40 years for her company, Originals by Cru. These pieces were sold at bead shows and holiday fairs around the area. Cru also loved food, especially when it was prepared exactly as she wanted it. She loved shopping at TJ Maxx and would bring back vacation snapshots of herself standing proudly in "TJ's" parking lots around the country. Cru loved to read. She was dedi- cated to her book club and was called admiringly a "chain reader" because she often started a new book before IDA KINGSTON, 97, she got to the end of the one she was Lori and Monte, and grandchildren, currently reading.
