Filarmonica della Scala

Riccardo Chailly conductor
Ben Heppner tenor

SAT, OCT 6 18 PM
Hill Auditorium

Shaped by such revered maestros as
Claudio Abbado, Riccardo Muti, Carlo
Maria Giulini, Zubin Mehta, Riccardo
Chailly, and Daniel Barenboim, the
La Scala Philharmonic celebrates its
25th anniversary with its first US tour.
Conductor Riccardo Chailly, one of
classical music's most hotly pursued
stars, is joined by opera's reigning
Wagnerian tenor, Ben Heppner. As
one writer observed, "When you
watch Chailly whipping an orchestra
into a finely controlled frenzy during a
concert performance, you can almost
see tiny arcs of electricity passing
between him and the musicians."
