THE BEST OF EVERYTHING
Proc.:Ws In The Pudding
Chef Theodore's Greek delights are winning over hearts and palates.
p
OTPOURRI ... Aficionados of
Greek food have always con-
tended that most Greek chefs
have few equals in the preparation of this
style of ethnic food ... Which is why Chef
Theodore Mitropoulos is beginning to get
more recognition as things are straighten-
ing out at his Chef Theodore restaurant
on Orchard Lake Road and Pontiac Trail,
Orchard Lake.
Many of the dishes he is putting out
are standouts seen only at some places
in Greektown and Greece itself ... One
of the biggest orders are for his Yiouvetsi
recipe of ultra-tender lamb baked with
Rosa Marina (orzo pasta) imported from
Greece and a light tomato sauce, a great
buy at $13.95, including oven brown pota-
toes, vegetable (peas or green beans) and
premises-made bread.
Also outstanding is Chef Theodore's
excellent rice pudding ... creamy, with
just enough white raisins to provide a
superior taste and consistency.
Coming out to Chef Theodore is not a
chore anymore ... Customers going south
need only go through the nearby shop-
ping strip and turn left at the light ...
This solves a huge problem that existed
before at the site.
Chef Theodore has yet to have a true
grand opening ... Its public-closed
pre-opening party was not attended as
expected because of the heavy rain storm
that kept so many away ... And the soft
opening was to get out whatever kinks
in Seattle who turned out
may exist ... Which is a very
