PHILIP SHLOM,
85, of Southfield,
died Aug. 27,
2007.
Mr. Shiom was
an insurance
agent. During
World War II,
Shiom
he was a gunner
in the Army Air
Force and was a prisoner of war in
Germany for six months.
His affiliations included being a
member of the Knights of Phythias
and CHaZaKaH at Adat Shalom
Synagogue, and he was active
with the Mobile Watch Group in
Southfield.
Mr. Shiom is survived by his
wife, Marion Shiom of Southfield;
children, Gordon and Susan Shiom
of West Bloomfield, Larry and
Lynn Shlom of Southfield, Judith
and Stuart Levitz of Orange,
Conn., Richard and Carla Shiom of
Waterford; grandchildren, Samara
and Nathan Cohen, Adam Shiom,
Suzanne Shiom, Scott Levitz,
Michael Levitz; great-grandchild,
Blaine Maxwell Cohen; sister
and brother-in-law, Winifred and
William Borkin of Southfield.
Mr. Shiom was the beloved father
of the late Susan Shiom Kreiger;
devoted son of the late Libbie and
the late Simon Shlom; cherished
brother and brother-in-law of the
late Irving and the late Celia Shlom,
the late Yetta and the late Max Sallan,
the late Bertha and the late Nathan
Novograd; loving son-in-law of the
late Lillian and the late Max Vernon.
Interment at Machpelah Cemetery.
