The program will augment an older adult's physi- cal and cognitive capabilities as well as offer a social and life-enhancing experience not found in other pro- gramming at JAS. The art enrichment program com- bines culinary art, ritual art, fiber art and storytelling. Four sessions will be rotated through four JAS buildings over a 12-month period. Recently, Chef Dallas Stier of New Baltimore was cooking up traditional Jewish recipes and other goodies at various JAS sites. Upcoming will be sessions on Jewish ritual objects with Rifkah Krolikowski, a Judaic art specialist, who teaches ritual art at the Jewish Community Center of Metropolitan Detroit and Hillel Day School in Farmington Hills; sessions on fiber art focusing on knitting, crochet- ing and other fiber crafts with an emphasis on Judaic textiles and ritual objects; and sessions on storytelling with Corrine Stavish, a professional storyteller.
