Mr. Posen is survived by his wife
of 30 years, Cindy Posen of West

Posen of Chicago; brothers-in-law

He was the devoted son of the late
Babs and the late Willard Posen.

FRANCES (COOPER) SHAPIRO, 85,
former Detroiter of West Palm Beach,
Fla., died Aug.17, 2007.
She is survived by her daughter and
son-in-law, Victoria and David Hauser;
grandchildren, Alissa and Bret Hauser;
great- grandchild, Raya Elise Hauser.
She was the beloved wife of the late
Max "Mutty" Shapiro.

DR. LOUIS SHIOVITZ, 92, of
Southfield, died Aug. 19, 2007. He was
a man of conviction, ever intrigued by
discovery and knowledge. He attended
Cass Technical High School, Wayne
University and Wayne State University
Medical School in Detroit. He served
as a doctor in World War II, achieving
the rank of major, and as chief of staff
at North Detroit General Hospital. He
attended to generations of Detroit fam-
ilies as a devoted general practitioner.
Dr. Shiovitz is survived by his
sons and daughters-in-law, William
and Dori Shiovitz of Boulder, Colo.,
Kenneth and Cathy Shiovitz of Seattle,
Wash., James and Peggy Shiovitz of .
Modesto, Calif., Thomas Shiovitz and
Esther Wein of Sherman Oaks, Calif.;
sister, Pearl LeVine; grandchildren,
Nancy, Ellie, Daniel, Stacey, Alexandra,
Andrew, Brynn and Zoe.
He was the beloved husband of
the late Belleen Reichstein Shiovitz;
brother of the late Sally, the late Philip,
the late Jennie, the late Nathan, the late
Barney, the late Herman, the late Rose,
the late Minnie, the late Harry and the
late Miriam.
Interment at Machpelah Cemetery.
