About 25 families pitched tents on the temple lawn July 28 for the 3rd annual Camp Imagine, an overnight program sponsored by the Temple's young adult Imagine group. Robyn Dwoskin of West Bloomfield co-chaired the event with her husband, Jeff, and set up camp with their daughters, Sophie, 8, and Emma, 5. "The girls just had a great time," Dwoskin said. "It's a really fun experience for families." After getting settled, participants did arts and crafts projects, including mak- ing their own Camp Imagine pillow cases and necklaces for small flashlights. They also took part in a scavenger hunt that led them all around the Temple to find answers to their questions. The afternoon of fun was followed by a cook out. "We had a hot dog and veggie burger dinner with salad, baked beans and corn:' said Temple Israel's director of program- ming, Tracie Fineman. "We ended dinner with a surprise ice cream sundae bar as a prize to everyone for doing such a great job with the scavenger hunt." In the evening, many of the children and a few parents performed in a talent show called "Temple Israel's Got Talent." A special Havdalah service, a song session around a campfire and s'mores rounded out the evening. "The campfire's always the coolest:' Dwoskin said. "The smell of the fire just brings back a lot of childhood memories." Spotted in the camping crowd were: Mindy and Loren Blumberg with their children Alena and Sophie, Amy and Marc Wander (Jack, Sam and Hattie), and Tracy and Allan Weitzman (Jacob and Abbey), all of Farmington Hills; Franci and Greg Hirsch (Brayden, Miles and Mia) and Jennifer and Ryan Schneider (Andrew and Emily), all of Commerce Township; Elisa and Ray Kantor (Alexis, Naomi and Sarah), and Ellen and Noah Krugel (Jesse and Adam), all of Novi; and Hayley and Brad Warren (Ricki, Aidan and Devin) of West Bloomfield.
