THOMAS TANNIS, 90, of Southfield, died
Aug. 12, 2007.
He is survived by his dear friend, Frieda
Faigin; nephew and niece, Leon and Gloria
Fogel.
Mr. Tannis was the beloved husband of
the late Lorraine Tannis.
Contributions may be made to Na'amat,
25900 Greenfield, Suite 205D, Oak Park,
MI 4823 or Jewish War Veterans, 24901
Northwestern Highway, Suite 313B,
Southfield, MI 48075. Services and
interment at Clover Hill Park Cemetery.

ROBERT M.
ZACHARIUS, 87, of
Southfield, died Aug. 12,
2007.
A bio-chemist, Dr.
Zacharius worked
for the Department
of Agriculture. He
Zacharius
received his master's
in biochemistry from
the University of Colorado and his Ph.D.
from University of Rochester in New York.
A veteran of World War II, he was in the
Army Air Force and was stationed in
India as a photo interpreter. He was also
a member of C.B.I. (China, Burma and
India veterans) and was a past president

of Washington, D.C., chapter of American
Chemical Society.
Dr. Zacharius is survived by his
daughters and sons-in-law, Susan L. and
Kenneth Fretz of Sterling Heights, Erica
and Dwight Daharsh of El Dorodo, Calif.,
and John McAuley of California; son and
daughter-in-law, Jeffrey D. and Leslie
Zacharius of Savannah; grandchildren,
Amy Beth and Timothy Batt, Kimberly
Fretz, Alexander and Rachel Daharsh,
Sarah, Jennifer and John McAuley; great-
grandchildren, Nicholas and Alec Batt;
brother and sister-in-law, Walter and
Suzanne Zacharius; nieces and nephews.
He was the beloved husband of the late
Esther Zacharius; dear father of the late
