Learn About Judaism
Adults of all backgrounds are invited
to learn more about Jewish history,
theology, liturgy, literature, culture and
the land of Israel in an 11-week class
taught by the Temple Israel clergy.
The Introduction to Judaism class
will begin 7:30-9:30 p.m. Tuesday,
Sept. 25, at Temple Israel, 5725
Walnut Lake Road, West Bloomfield.
Classes include a Shabbat dinner and
Holocaust Memorial Center tour.
The fee is $130 a person or $150 a
couple, including books. Call the Tyner

Holidays Are Coming
Rabbi Elimelech Silberberg will give
a three-part lecture series on "The
High Holidays Through the Eyes of
Kabbalah."
The series, to be held at Sara &
Morris Tugman Bais Chabad Torah
Center, will be offered on three con-
secutive Sundays beginning 10:30
a.m. Sept. 9; and on three consecutive
Mondays beginning 8:15 p.m. Sept. 10.
The Torah Center is at 5595 Maple,
West Bloomfield. For information or to

a charge.

Christian's Discovery - and Defense
- of Zionism. Tot Shabbat service
and dinner for ages 2-7 starts at 6:15.
Pre-paid dinner reservations are due
by noon Friday. $20 for ages 13 and

Temple Beth El: Welcome Shabbat at
a service and barbecue Friday, Aug.
17, at 7400 Telegraph in Bloomfield
Township. Service is at 6 p.m., fol-
lowed by kosher hot dogs and grilled
chicken sandwiches in the courtyard
at 6:45. The Temple Beth El Mitzvah
Fund is sponsoring the event at no
charge, but dinner reservations are

back from camp to the Summer Camp
