ting the glass into the molds.
"Glass is a very exciting material
because it becomes infused with light.
I started out working with ceramics
and my glass designs correlate with
the ceramic influences."
Sepanski, whose artistic encour-
agement and Jewish heritage came
through her mother's side of the fami-

this summer's selections.
While many of Seligman's chairs are
one-of-a-kind, some are limited edi-
tions with subjects that include mon-
keys, Elvis and gambling. She also will
have some hand-made journals and
purses in Rochester Hills.
"All the fabric is hand-sewn:' says
Seligman, 57, who connects with
the local Jewish community through
her husband, B.J. Seligman, a former
Detroiter practicing radiology part-
time in Battle Creek.
She studied textiles at Indiana
University and works with silk screen-
ing techniques for surface designs.
Seligman maintains a home studio
and a warehouse to store her finished
projects.
"My chairs are medium-size
and meant to make people smile,"
Seligman says. "They also are meant to
be used." II
