MILFORD FESTIVITIES: Three days of activities — old and new — fill
downtown Milford Friday-Sunday, Aug. 10-12, as the Milford Memories Summer
Festival offers restaurant favorites, local entertainers, art works of all kinds, kids'
activities and competitive events. The festival, planned by the Huron Valley
Chamber of Commerce, features a 5K run, blind canoe race and a Civil War
encampment for those who like to get into the full swing of outdoor events. For
those who like to be entertained, there is the music of Almond Joy and Friends,
Hook Up Band, elmo THUMM, Just Jill, Sheila Landis and more. Youngsters
can watch the Imagination Theater while other members of the family take part

LAUGH LINES: Chelsea Handler's brand of
humor should be familiar to fans of The Tonight
Show with Jay Leno, Scarborough Country and
even The Chelsea Handler Show. Fans can see her
(right) in person at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 12, at
the Meadow Brook Music Festival on the campus
of Oakland University in Rochester, where local
comedian Mike Green will be the opening act.
This is a big summer for Chelsea, who also will
see the release of her second book, Are You There
