An alumnus of University of Michigan undergraduate and medical schools, he served his professional community with dis- tinction and honor. Dr. Gordon, 78, of Beverly Hills, Mich., died July 29, 2007, after a extended ill- ness. He and his pro- fessional partner of Dr. Seymour 50 years, Gerald C. Timmis, were chiefs of cardiology at Beaumont, an asso- ciation of which he was incredibly proud. An involved member of his com- munity, Dr. Gordon was an active participant with United Way and he served as a past president and board member of the Michigan Chapter of the American Heart Association. Since 1997, Michigan Heart has given an annual award in his name to an individual for distin- guished achievement in the field of cardiology. Believing in the impor- tance of cutting edge medicine and biomedical research, Dr. Gordon was an ex-officio board member of BETTY CASE, 92, of West Bloomfield, died July 26, 2007. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Melvin Case and Debby Shepherd of White Lake Township; daughters and sons-in- law, Dolores and Frank Manderosion of California, Lorraine and Dennis Bills of Pinckney, Shirley Ashley of Florida; brother Isadore and Florence Aronoff of Southfield; grandchildren, Robin, Helena, Annie, Jannie, Howard, Richard, Charles, Beth, Jeffrey and Paulette; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter. Mrs. Case was the beloved wife of the late Hyman Case; dear sister of the late Mort Aronoff, the late Nathan Aronoff, the late Jack Aronoff, the late the Michigan Society for Medical Research and a Founding Fellow of the Society of Geriactric Cardiology. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Marilynn Gordon of Beverly Hills; children, Judge Nancy Gordon of Durham, N.C., Dr. Richard and Michelle Gordon of Bloomfield Township, Dr. Carol and Dr. Mark DeVore of West Bloomfield; grandchil- dren, Rachel Gordon, Adam Gordon, Zachary DeVore, David DeVore and Matthew DeVore; brother and sisters- in-law, Dr. Marvin and Sylvia Gordon, Marion Gordon Gordon, Anita Pensler, Joyce Kraft Mark; many loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Dr. Gordon was the beloved son of the late Minnie and the late Morris Gordon; the cherished son-in-law of the late Irene Pensler Kraft and the late Harry Kraft; loving brother of the late Harold "Hank" Gordon; dear brother-in-law of the late Alvin Pensler, the late Hannan Mark.
