especially the Pistons.
Daughter Heidi reminisced
about her family's many vaca-
tions or "driving adventures" as
she called them throughout the
United States. She also cher-
ished the lunch dates she had
every Wednesday with her dad
from first grade through high
school when they would always
share a piece of pie.
Speaking at the funeral,
Southfield Mayor Brenda
Lawrence spoke of the Roses'
tremendous devotion to the city
and choked up remembering how
the cantor would sing "The Star
Spangled-Banner" every year at
Southfield's Martin Luther King
Jr. Day commemoration.
Euni said her husband "knew
his music inside and out. He could
move the crowd by singing some-
thing strong or very, very soft."
"His voice carried us in wor-
ship," said Rabbi Klein. "It lifted
our souls."
Cantor Rose is survived by
his beloved wife, Eunice Rose;
daughters and sons-in-law, Dr.
Heidi M. Rose and Dr. Michael A.
Barnett of Pennsylvania, Lauren
and James Ryan of New Jersey;
grandchildren Matthew Ryan,
Stephanie Ryan, Alexander K.
Barnett, Anna Rose Barnett; sis-
ter, Lorraine Dorfman; sister-in-
law of Eudice M. Tracey.
Interment was at Southfield
Cemetery. Contributions may be
made to Amy Margolis Silberman
Flower Fund at Temple Emanu-El,
