Attend Temple Shir Shalom's Food, Fun and
Fireworks Festival, 6:30 p.m. Monday, Aug.
13. More than 20 of Metro Detroit's most
popular restaurants and caterers will pro-
vide a wide array of their signature dishes.
Pop band Sunset Boulevard will perform.
Fun for kids includes bouncies, train rides,
face painting and remote control race cars. The evening will
end with a spectacular fireworks show. Temple Shir Shalom
is at 3999 Walnut Lake Road, West Bloomfield. Adults $20,

The Jewish Gay Network of
Michigan's Twice Blessed Speakers
Series will screen the documen-
tary Lover Other: the Story of
Claude Cahun and Marcel Moore,
about two Jewish stepsisters who
were surrealist artists and life
partners in 1920s Paris. During
the Nazi occupation, they became
resistance fighters and were con-
demned to death. The film will be
shown at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Aug.
