A

nswer: Dear Sari, natural
(also sometimes referred
to as "kitchen" or "home")
therapies/remedies have been
handed down for generations. In-
deed, up until about the time of the
American Revolutionary War, folk
healers and medical self-care was
often the only health care available
in this country.

Certainly, natural therapies
1 should never replace sound
-1,_
medical advice, particularly
regarding serious health
issues. That doesn't mean,
however, that natural
therapies, which often
emphasize prevention
and healthy lifestyles,
have no place in main-
taining health in our
everyday lives. Often-
times, natural therapies
are the product of genera-
tions of observed beneficial
effect. Simple rule: when in doubt,
consult your trusted physician or
dietitian/nutritionist as appropriate.

Indeed, there are good reasons why
apple cider vinegar (ACV) may
provide real health benefits. ACV
is rich in vitamins and minerals,
among them potassium, which
may benefit blood pressure levels.
Apple pectin is a dietary fiber that
can aid digestive health. I hope this
helps answer your question.
