Groundbreaking recently took
place for Ultimate Soccer Arenas,
867 South Blvd., Pontiac. The larg-
est indoor soccer facility in North
America will include state-of-the-art
fields that meet all FIFA require-
ments for indoor and outdoor play.
Owners are George Derderian, Thomas
Korpela, Mack Major, Jon Murad and
Rick Tapper.

Kidney Patients Aided
A local chapter of the American
Association of Kidney Patients
(AAKP), the American Association
of Kidneys Patients-Southeastern
Chapter, is now officially operational.
The goals and objectives of the
chapter are awareness and detection
of Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) and
possible prevention or delay of same
— highlighting various methods of
control-compliance and related diseas-
es, as well as providing resources and
increasing understanding with emo-
tional and physical aspects of CKD.
A major kickoff of the chapter will
be held at the Marriott Hotel at 30559
Flynn Road, Romulus, on Saturday,
July 28. A kidney awareness and sup-
port group has been formed and
meets the second Monday of each
