Avi and Beth Brandvain get ready to ride.

ride. This year, 61 Team Alex mem-
bers will ride. Their 2007 fundrais-
ing goal is $200,000, more than
20 percent of the $940,000 total
raised by all teams in last year's
ride. With each wish costing about
$8,000, they understand the
impact of their endeavor.
"A wish is a gift of hope, some-
thing to look forward to and a

chance for families under a tremen-
dous amount of emotional, financial
and physical stress to be together
as a family," Beth said. "I would like
to emphasize that many wish kids
do survive. These kids and their
families consider the wish to have
been an important part of recov-
ery." 7
