Huntington Woods artist Lynne Avadenka has received an International
Fellowship in Jewish Studies from the Memorial Foundation for Jewish
Culture, the only international body dedicated solely to advancing
Jewish cultural activities. Dr. Nahum Goldmann established the founda-
tion in 1965, with reparation funds from the West German government.
With her $5,000 grant, Avadenka plans to create two limited edition
artist's books, based on the books of Lamentations and Ecclesiastes.
This will complete the cycle of the Five Megillot as she has already cre-
ated books based on the Song of Songs, the Book of Ruth and the Book
of Esther.
