ABE FRIEDMAN,
93, of West
Bloomfield, died July
1, 2007. A builder,
he owned Carmen
Homes, but previ-
ously he had several
other companies.
Friedman
Primarily a residen-
tial builder, he was
in the building business for 60 years.
Mr. Friedman was a graduate of
Detroit Institute of Technology. He
became a 32nd degree Mason, a
Shriner and was very active with the
Shriner's Circus. He was also a past
president of Congregation Beth Achim,
a member of Michigan Builders
Association and received awards for
his outstanding accomplishments.
Mr. Friedman is survived by his
daughters and sons-in-law, Sheryl and
Larry Cohen of West Bloomfield, Joyce
and David Steinberg of Farmington
Hills; daughter-in-law, Janet Friedman;
grandchildren, Marci Friedman, Sara
Friedman, Stephanie Steinberg and
Lindsay Steinberg; brother and sister-
in-law, Ray and Lorraine Friedman;
sister and brother-in-law, Rose and
Bernard Berman.
He was the beloved husband of
the late Pearl Friedman; the devoted
father of the late Eliot Ira Friedman;
cherished brother of the late Leah
Friedman.
Interment at Machpelah Cemetery.

CECELIA FRIEDMAN, 92, of
Southfield, died June 26, 2007.
She is survived by her sons and

Friedman of Southfield, Gilbert and
Helene Friedman of Farmington Hills;
daughter and son-in-law, Elaine and
Mark Lavetter of Southfield; grand-
children, Amy and Josh Lavetter-
Keidan, Shawn Lavetter, Michael
and Rotem Lavetter-Dror, Stacey
Reed, Darryl and Tori Friedman,
Neal Friedman; great-grandchildren,
Emma, Shoshana, Benjamin, Ashley,
Tea, Madison, Mallory, Jennifer, Jeffrey;
brother-in-law, Louis Friedman; many
nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Friedman was the beloved wife

of the late Charles Friedman; dear sis-
ter of the late Elsie Distler, the late Ann
Levine; dear sister-in-law of the late
Jerry Friedman, the late George Distler,
the late Art Levine.

PEARL GREENBAUM, 95, of West
Bloomfield, died June 30, 2007.
She is survived by her son and
daughter-in-law, Sid and Jackie
Greenbaum of Encinitas, Calif.; daugh-
ters and sons-in-law, Sylvia and Dr.
Larry Lee of Bloomfield Hills, Bella
Wais and Stuart Slovis of Deerfield
Beach, Fla.; sister, Sara Zdanowicz
of West Bloomfield; grandchildren,
Dr. Howard and Vi Lee, Sandra and
Sherwyn Labovitz, Margo and Ethan
Lowenstein, Dr. Karen and Dr. Tony

ROSE ICURZMANN, 96, of West
Bloomfield, died June 30, 2007. She
was a bookkeeper for Adler Kay
Cabinet Makers.
Mrs. Kurzmann is survived by her
son and daughter-in-law, Michael
and Sharon Alterman of Farmington;
grandchildren, Aaron Alterman,
Edward and Kari Alterman; great-
grandchildren, Noa and Adina
Alterman; brother and sister-in-law,
Maurice and Marjorie Kurzmann of
Southfield; sister and brother-in-law,
Jean and David Blau of Walled Lake.
Interment at Adat Shalom Memorial
