ROSE ZIEGELMAN, 80, of

Farmington Hills, died June 23,
2007.
She is survived by her sister,
Shirley Diamond of Illinois;

where she lived.

Architect And Investor

S

eymour Levine, 78, of Bloomfield
Hills, died June 24, 2007.
He was born June 30,1928. He
grew up in Detroit and graduated Central
High School in 1946. He then attended the
University of Michigan, earning a bachelor
of arts degree in 1951. He established
Seymour Levine Architects in 1956.
Mr. Levine married Lois Ernstein in 1954
and had three children, Lauren, Robert
and Douglas. The architectural firm grew
to a point where he employed about 20
employees. He had a vision to invest in his
own buildings and became a real estate
investor.
Some of his developments and archi-
tectural designs are well known around
the city, including the Raleigh House on
Telegraph Road in Southfield, the Mount
Vernon Quadrangle award-winning Giffel's
Building on Telegraph in Southfield,
Bingham Office Park, W.B. Donor Laurel
Office Park, Shopping Center Markets,
the Kodak Building and the Evergreen

Shopping Plaza.
In addition to his professional accom-
plishments, he was a teacher of prop-
erty development and architecture at
Lawrence Technological University. He
was also a prize-winning photographer
and world traveler as well as being active
in many charities. He was on the board
of directors of Technion and Variety, the
Children's Charity as well as Yad Ezra.
Mr. Levine was a lifetime member of
Congregation Shaarey Zedek and was
instrumental in raising money through
golf outings with Children's Variety. He
was an accomplished golfer and was a
member of Knollwood Country Club for 40
years. Mr. Levine was a soft-spoken, hum-
ble man who loved life and loved to laugh
and kibbitz. His family was everything to
him and he was adored and respected by
everyone who ever knew him.
Mr. Levine is survived by his adoring
wife, Lois; three children and their spous-
es, Lauren Bendix, Robert and (Michele)

grandchildren, Brooke, Scott, Jason and
Matthew Bendix. Allison and Jessica
Levine, Alysa and Daniel Levine; brother,
Hershel Levine; sister-in-law and brother-
in-law, Carol and Paul Hooberman; nieces,
nephews, friends and colleagues.
He was the father-in-law of the late Dr.
Stephen A. Bendix; brother-in-law of the
late Robert Ernstein.
Interment at Clover Hill Park Cemetery.
Contributions may be made to the char-
ity of one's choice. Arrangements by Ira
