birth of their daughter, Ava Renee (Maya Eliana). Sharing
in the joy are proud grandparents Sue and Dan Stettner
of Huntington Woods and Carol and Steve Cohen of West
Bloomfield. Excited great-grandparents include Mickey Pelzner
Lipshaw of Boca Raton, Fla., and Larry Cohen of Scottsdale,
Ariz. Ava is named in loving memory of her maternal great-
grandmother Ruth Stettner and paternal great-uncle Mark
Heller.

Brian received his bachelor of arts
degree from Yale University in New Haven, Conn., and his juris doctor from New
York University. He is an associate at Davis Polk & Wardwell in New York.
A September wedding is planned at the Townsend Hotel in Birmingham.

Orchard Lake are thrilled to
announce the engagement of
their daughter Jennifer Lauren to Corey
James Schumer, son of Lynnda Schumer
of Farmington Hills and Dr. Charles and
Connie Schumer of Saginaw.
Jennifer is a graduate of Indiana
University in Bloomington with a bachelor's
degree in recreational therapy. She is
employed at New Oakland child-adolescent
family center in Livonia.
Corey received early admission to dental
school before completing his undergradu-
ate degree and is a third-year dental student at the University of Detroit Mercy
School of Dentistry.
An August wedding is planned at Hotel Baronette in Novi.
