Summer Jewish Study The Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Detroit is offering "Summertime Torah;' sponsored by the Affiance for Jewish Education's FedEd department. On Tuesdays, Rabbi Leiby Burnham will explore "The Laws of Being a Mentsh." The five-week class runs 9:30-11 a.m. beginning June 26 at the Jewish Community Center in West Bloomfield. The cost is $65. Dr. Howard Lupovitch will pres- ent a five-week survey on "Jews in America" 7-8:30 p.m. Wednesdays beginning June 27 at the Max M. Fisher Federation Building, Bloomfield Township. The cost is $65. The series is made possible, in part, by Barbara and Ed Klarman. On Thursday evenings, explore relationships in the Bible with local psychologist and Judaic studies instructor Dr. Mitch Parker dur- ing the six-week course 'What's the Matter with Kids Today? A Psychologist's look at Parents and their Children in the Bible." The class will meet 7-8:30 p.m. for six weeks beginning July 5 at Federation. The cost is $75. Cruise For A Cure On Tuesday, June 19, the organiz- ers of the Orchard Lake Road Car Cruise held July 29 in West Bloomfield will host a pre-cruise fundraiser, Cruisin' for a Cure 2007, at 6:30 p.m. at Shenandoah Country Club, West Bloomfield. Tickets are $100 and proceeds will go to Henry Ford Hospital's Hermelin Brain Tumor Center. The organizers of the event are Stuart and Maxine Brickner. This year's co-hosts are Shari and Robert Grinter. Vintage automo- biles will be previewed with a buf- fet dinner, salad, desert, open bar and entertainment and dancing to the Peoples Choice Band.
